Front Michelin PS4 tires on my W204 C63, with around 2,000 miles of usage. The cut does not penetrate to the cables, hence the structure is intact; however, I am understandably apprehensive about the potential for a blowout at motorway speeds, although the vehicle is presently in storage and not accumulating mileage. It would additionally provide as guidance for the MOT.

It appears that the tire has been curbed, resulting in a section being removed from the rim protection area, which failed to serve its purpose. Rebalancing may be necessary, however it is uncertain whether alteration is required. Consequently, I would personally substitute it during the rim refurbishment process.

If I were adhering to legal speeds, I would not be particularly concerned. If it is intended for use on a track or the Autobahn, I would modify it.

It appears to be merely kerbing damage that has removed a portion of the rim protection section of the tire.
I would operate it and observe for any decline during my routine tyre inspections.

Superficial damage - nothing beyond that. And a section of the tire absorbed such an impact, albeit it did not protect the rim in this instance.
