Absence of Crankshaft Position Sensor

Hello everyone, I possess a 2012 Diesel Kia Soul 2 in Inferno Red. Recently, my wife was transporting our children to school when the engine abruptly ceased functioning. The battery is functioning properly, having been refuelled a week ago, and there are no apparent issues. It ceased functioning and failed to restart. All it does is click! click! click! continually when you touch the start button. The auxiliary belt intermittently twitches and then ceases, synchronised with the repetitive Click! Click! Click! I removed the oil filler, and the camshaft is aligned with the twitch.
Replaced the battery with a completely charged one, still the issue persists.
Google recommends replacing the Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Purchased one and viewed the YouTube vids. All of them depict the engine with a screw-on canister oil filter, however mine features a huge plastic screw cap and utilises a replaceable filter cartridge exclusively.
I am unable to find the crankcase sensor.
The sole component resembling the unit provided by my local parts shop is located behind the battery tray, adjacent to the bulkhead side of the engine. The component possesses the correct configuration, is constructed from plastic, secured by a single 10mm bolt, and features three wires in the harness corresponding to three connections in the replacement plug. The cable is of appropriate length, equipped with a push-fit clasp in the correct position, and features a label on the lead. The label contains the following inscriptions: 120307, C224N01, O146, with "KYUNG SHIN" on one side and "SPEED" with "B6425" on the opposite side; however, the other numbers remain unclear in the image.

Is this the crankshaft sensor?

I am utterly perplexed by this.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Have a look via your vin at the components and diagrams at https://partsouq.com/ additionally does the engine turn over by hand or in gear with a push?

Greetings,
Thank you for the recommendation; I will examine it.

We engaged the automobile in second gear and sensed compression resistance. The timing chain and camshaft operated in synchrony appropriately.

A malfunctioning crank or cam sensor will not prevent the engine from cranking; it will crank smoothly but will not ignite.

Your description indicates a timing failure to me.
Failure of the electrical supply (or grounding) to the starter will not result in the engine ceasing operation.

That spares me the effort of locating the elusive sensor.
I possess an Ancel VD700 OBD scanner, but I am uncertain about the functionalities available without the engine operating.
I lack expertise.

One would anticipate retrieving fault codes from the OBD if the CPS is nonfunctional. Additionally, examine the previous codes, as the battery replacement may have erased the present code.

In the worst-case scenario, remove the sensor you suspect to be faulty and compare it with the replacement one; 99% of these components do not exhibit the same characteristics as others in the engine.

It is necessary to manually verify the engine's rotation, either by elevating the vehicle and rotating a wheel while the gearbox is engaged or by manipulating the crankshaft pulley. Reading the fault codes may provide insight into timing concerns, among others. Since you claim to lack expertise, it may be advisable to consult a garage for a diagnosis of the issue. It will not be the crank sensor unless it has fractured and become lodged in the flywheel.
