The vehicle was driven into a ditch due to a flooded road, resulting in minor water exposure. It operated normally for three days thereafter. The engine cranks but fails to start. I mistakenly referenced the belt. A mechanic employed at BMW conducted an inspection and informed me that, to the best of his knowledge, no water had infiltrated the engine or the injectors, which is his assessment.

2012 BMW 520d, chain replaced 25,000 km ago, clutch replaced 25,000 km ago, recently fully serviced with a new turbo installed due to failure of the previous one. The only code present is for the EGR, which has been indicating for some time; I am awaiting the arrival of a blanking kit.

It is necessary to examine live data to assess fuel pressure readings, engine RPM while cranking, and other parameters if no more codes are recorded.

The blanking kit will not rectify the EGR fault code, as blanking the EGR generates a code unless it is also remapped.
