1.5-liter engine This vehicle also has air conditioning, and I need to change the serpentine belt (auxiliary, drive). Is there a recommended amount of up-and-down play for tensioning a belt?
On the internet, it appears to be equipped with some kind of technological device. I'll make a note of the current location of the tensioner bolt as a starting point. Much obliged.

I had the same question. It appears to be based on sound now, when I'm used to seeing x mm deflection indicated. A simple starting point would be to measure the maximum mm deflection at a single place and match it; however, knowing the location of the tensioner bolt is also helpful. If the belt is excessively loose, it will make a screeching sound.

My brother-in-law was asked to look into Autodata, but no results came back. I will make a note of the adjuster bolt before letting it go a little loose, measure the current deflection, and then tighten it up a little. Even a little squeaking won't do it.
Because the weather is so bad right now, I'll have to do it by the side of the road, but I sprayed it with belt dressing until I can get to it.

Is there no tensioner that is spring loaded on it?

No, there is only a bolt for tensioning the alternator.

My guess is that cars manufactured in 2017 and after had the idler spring tensioned.

Since I'm new here, I apologise, but I failed to notice where the owner's car model is mentioned.
Last month, I purchased a GATES 4PK845 Micro-V Xf Ribbed V-Belt to gift to a buddy who has a 1.4 Getz equipped with that configuration.
Setting the tension doesn't require any special equipment; just make sure it's not too tight and damage the bearings or too loose and it will squeak.
