Potential benefit from a malfunctioning engine

Hello everyone, I've been a lurker for a long time, and I'm back with a disappointing post.

I am devastated to report that my 2018 340i M Sport 6MT (MPPSK + BMW LSD)—a vehicle with a mere 19,000 miles—had a disastrous engine failure when pulling into second gear. The number six piston went through the block. Pretty basic, limited to approximately 4,000 revolutions per minute.

The automobile has been serviced by BMW at every interval. I must admit, my previous experience with MHD Stage 1 (the lowest RON map) with the usual MPPSK exhaust settings was really lacklustre. Esso Supreme was the petrol of choice.

The PCV valve malfunctioned and led to a misfire two years prior. I stopped the car right away and turned off the engine. After BMW Assist picked up the vehicle, the automaker fixed it (installed a new PCV and battery). This makes me wonder whether it wasn't the final straw that caused everything to fall apart.

I'm trying to figure out what to do right now. A second-hand engine with low mileage, supplied and fitted, with a warranty of one year and 10,000 miles, has been quoted to me at £4.5k.

My trust in the vehicle has completely evaporated at this point. The fact that my wife's 2017 M240i manual has been trouble-free and has accumulated more than twice the mileage adds insult to injury.

I've been learning about LSPI, a condition I was previously unaware existed; perhaps the fact that my older man was behind the wheel had an impact.
I'm looking for an estimate of the car's current worth. It is spec.

Brakes: M Sport in Glacier Silver
H.K. Harman
Suede in a dark shade
A bigger screen
Complete record of services
The shadow's edge
Not a single scrape or ding
The entire artwork is original

The MPPSK exhaust, which was installed by the main dealer in 2021 and is still in good shape, with carbon tips that appear almost new, and the BMW LSD has only travelled around 4,000 miles.

I would greatly value any advice you could provide.

When it was taken to BMW for warranty maintenance, was the vehicle mapped? will not be helpful.I'm genuinely interested.

Even though the stage one tune had nothing to do with the valve failure, BMW yet refused to undertake any goodwill inspections after recovering the vehicle two years ago when the pvc valve failed.

I'm sorry that happened; it was extremely unfortunate. Failure at low rpm, even with a modest map, sounds more like bad luck than misuse, in my opinion, and I'm no expert. Although the LSD and MPPSK are helpful, the car's current worth is mostly due to its project/engine-out status. If you've lost faith, it's understandable that the £4.5k engine switch sounds sensible. It could be helpful to get some expert perspectives on the worth as-is vs repaired.
