Are USB Type-C ports retrofittable? Group 21

Hi there!

The back of my G21 does not feature any USB-C ports. There are components on eBay that include the sockets, and I was wondering if this is one of those cases where the wiring is already there (i.e., behind the panel), but isn't connected. If the right part is installed, it might be joined up. Is anybody informed?

It would be an inexpensive upgrade that my kids will likely appreciate as they grow older.

I am grateful.

You could probably use a cigarette socket (if one is installed) or another appropriate source to charge it, therefore I'd say yes. Honestly, it doesn't matter if the USB-C ports aren't flashy if the component looks well and you're satisfied with its appearance. Assuming it is solely for pricing and not for further integration into the media system, it shouldn't be too expensive for you to do it yourself and get what you want.

The response is appreciated. Will the wiring loom enable them to be "plug & play" with no adjustments required other than the panel? You mentioned riding on a cigarette socket, but I'm asking whether that's really the case. I suppose I could pry the panel off to examine it, but I'd rather not damage any trim clips without first asking.

Three for the price of, what, five bucks? That's what my USB to USB-C converter accomplishes for me.That online retailer.
