I possess a 2015 335D, and the front differential pinion bearing has malfunctioned. Has anyone undertaken this replacement independently and may offer any advice or recommendations prior to my initiation?

Thank you!

I have previously replaced front differentials; you will need to support the engine with a cross brace or crane, as the subframe must be lowered for removal.

Thank you for your response. Having examined the underside of the car earlier, I comprehend your perspective. The differential cannot be removed without first lowering the subframe. I believe I can extract it by lowering one side of the subframe instead of removing it totally. Second-hand differentials are relatively inexpensive.

It is necessary to unbolt the differential on both sides to facilitate sufficient movement; the suspension arms may remain connected, allowing the frame to dangle. After removing the drive shafts, you must lightly reattach the suspension arms.

I read the title and thought, "Oh!" A Frankenstein differential; must it be F30?
