Has anyone here actually gone through with a purchase from Kiltybane Logistics?

Hi everyone,
Been browsing around for a first car for my daughter (she turns 18 in a few weeks) and I came across a 2022 Audi A1 S line on eBay.
At first I thought it was just some random private listing, but after I messaged, turns out it’s being handled by a company called Kiltybane Logistics.
Didn’t expect that at all.
Has anyone actually dealt with them before? I found lots about them online but am still unsure. I'm wondering if this is normal or if I'm missing something.
Cheers

No idea about that company specifically but repo vehicles aren’t always a bad thing. I picked up a Ford Mondeo a few years back that had come through a finance auction and it’s honestly been one of the better cars I’ve owned

Hello, It’s the buying without seeing it that would put me off more than anything
Delivery sounds great on paper but sending money before you’ve even stood next to the car… yeah, not for me personally

Exactly!
I’ve always gone to look at cars myself. Walk around them, start them up, check documents, the usual.
But my daughter’s completely set on this Audi now, won’t even look at anything else. Just trying not to rush into something stupid.

Hey James,
I actually bought one through Kiltybane Logistics back in May.
Mine was a 2021 Hyundai Tucson Ultimate, also repossessed and the rice was quite a bit lower than anything local I’d seen, which is what got my attention in the first place.
I hope this helps

Weren’t you a bit uneasy sending payment before even seeing the car in person? That’s the bit I keep going back to

Yeah, I won’t pretend I wasn’t, before I paid anything I checked them out as much as I could as company registration, a few mentions online, even rang them a couple of times just to see how they handled questions.
They seem to actually run transport as their main business, not just selling cars, which made it feel a bit more grounded. Didn’t feel like one of those overnight websites

Has anyone actually returned a car to them though? Because every company sounds great until refunds get involved…

Fair point! I didn’t need to return mine, but I made sure everything about that was clear beforehand. They told me you get 14 days after delivery to check it over and if you’re not happy, they arrange collection, as long as you haven’t messed with the car.
That was enough for me to take the chance

Hi all,
I think it’s one of those situations where it’s not necessarily dodgy, but it’s also not completely risk-free.
I’m more old-school and I’d rather see the car with my own eyes.
But if it’s miles away and they offer a proper return period, I get why people go for it.
Also worth knowing banks now cover certain transfer scams up to £85k since late 2024. Doesn’t mean you should relax completely, but it’s something.
