Settings for the X5 E70's Camera, Central Locking, and Time and Date

The four passenger doors on my X5 E70's central locking system suddenly quit functioning today. This is true whether you use the key fobs or the button in the middle of the dashboard to lock or unlock the vehicle. Not much has changed with the tailboard.
Coincidentally, it also seems to have forgotten my settings for the time and date display, going back to the 12 o'clock clock and the USA date format. I have the impression that these details are probably saved in the user's preferences; for example, when you use a certain key to unlock, it remembers your seat position and other preferences.
The engine will still start with either key.
Because of this, I'm starting to worry if the central locking mechanism has somehow neglected to pair with the keys. Unfortunately, my vehicle just has a push-button start, and most articles I've seen suggest switching the key to the accessories position in order to fix them. Because I think the two are distinct and the starter works, I would like to double-check that I am re-pairing to the central locking system and not the engine.
Just so you know, the back camera has been acting up as of late. On occasion, it displays a useful image; on other occasions, it displays a series of coloured bars; on occasion, it flashes random image fragments; on occasion, it displays a totally blank screen; and on occasion, I just receive an error message stating that the camera has failed.
The camera isn't a huge deal for me, but getting it to function again would be great. However, the central locking not working is really annoying.
I would really appreciate any insights you can provide.
