Have the internal number plate fixings also been removed?
Subsequently, the two fastenings on the exterior flanking the handle.
Perhaps two additional fasteners beneath that panel? Another individual may provide commentary on that.

I am optimistic that the failure lies with the element or another component inside the mirror housing, since, despite the cost, replacing the mirror glass is rather straightforward.
