I am now experiencing a problem with the front windows of the ML vehicle.
Several weeks ago, on a chilly morning, I mistakenly believed that the windows had been defrosted. Consequently, I proceeded to lower them in order to enhance my visibility.
Regrettably, the items had not fully thawed, and after a short while, they descended with an audible thud.
Currently, both mechanisms continue to function, however upon reaching complete closure, they promptly reopen, exhibiting behavior reminiscent to engaging the anti-crush feature.
Is there a method for resetting this or have I rendered it inoperable?

To initiate the desired action, please attempt to elevate the windows by turning the switch in an upward direction and maintaining pressure for a duration of five seconds. Subsequently, proceed to lower the windows by reversing the switch's direction and maintaining pressure for an additional five seconds.

In order to reset the windows of my 2006 GL vehicle, it was necessary to repeat the aforementioned method on three consecutive occasions. No, I am not joking. I am unable to recall the individual who provided me with advice on the forum; nonetheless, it is worth noting that after following their guidance, the automatic up and down functionality was successfully restored on three consecutive occasions. The attribution of this phenomenon might be ascribed to the German inclination for humor.

Thank you for providing the information.
I have a question about the beginning of the procedure: is it customary to commence with the window in a closed position?

I think it was start from open. Up and hold for 5 then open. Repeat three times.

I attempted this task when I was experiencing traffic congestion yesterday, and to my pleasant surprise, both windows functioned well. I express my gratitude to all those who provided assistance.

The expression of joy and excitement is evident. The aforementioned little adjustment was my second most preferred manifestation of the peculiarities inside the MB universe. One notable aspect was the need to use rear lighting of a certain brand, since failure to do so would trigger an error detection system, resulting in erratic behavior. The assertion that German engineers lack a sense of humor is unfounded.

I conducted the task twice on each individual, and to be candid, it yielded favorable results.
