A friend's 40-year-old car had a small engine fire not too long ago.
Because of this, I'm thinking about getting a fire extinguisher for the car and the house.
Can anyone suggest one that will fit in the space under the seat?
I could just buy one from Amazon, but a suggestion would be helpful.
I'm not trying to "save the car," but rather to keep it from becoming a danger to the people around it.
And does anyone have ideas about the size and features of one that could be used at home? I think it was a two-kilo fire extinguisher that was placed near the door into my garage. (Which is right in front of my kitchen)
What are some good suggestions for fire extinguishers? Automobile and House

Whatever you obtain, be sure it's not a forgery. Keep in mind that many extinguishers need maintenance (you don't want to feel secure with something that doesn't function when you need it). Now I'm heading to inspect my (kitchen unit).

Consider the kind of fire you're attempting to put out as well; if it's electrical, water won't do much help, even if the extinguisher is more affordable.

A powder fire extinguisher can put out the most types of fires.
The problem with powder is that, even though it works well, it is also dangerous. If you put it on things like electronics, it will break them. Because of this, other types of fire extinguishers, like CO2, are usually used for electrical equipment.
I keep 1Kg powder extinguishers around my house and in my car. You might also want to keep a fire blanket in the kitchen.
Fire extinguishers for the home don't need much upkeep, but the pressure gauge should be checked often. And check them carefully for signs of rust. If a jar has any signs of corrosion, you should throw it away.
Also, I keep fire extinguishers everywhere, but I don't really depend on them. Most of the time, a 1Kg extinguisher won't be enough to put out a fire. Don't take any risks when trying to put out a fire with an extinguisher, but feel free to use it if you can.
The fire service says that you shouldn't try to put out a fire if you can't get close enough to it safely to use an extinguisher. If the fire is too big for the extinguisher, you should leave and call for help instead of trying to put it out yourself.

It is widely believed that a dry powder extinguisher is preferable for use in an automobile. It is suitable for use on all sorts of fire. Keep in mind that if you use the extinguisher, the automobile will almost certainly be a write-off since the powder cannot be removed.
For the size, you'll receive no more than 10 seconds of usage, and it will need frequent repair. It should be removed and shook regularly, otherwise the power may cake due to car vibrations.
Personally, unless you're a hazardous goods transporter, I wouldn't bother; simply get out of the vehicle if a fire breaks out...

Ferrari owners have fire extinguishers. YouTuber Ratarossa endorses them. They are probably more costly than the usual automobile, and the write-off value is bigger, making it worth fixing if you use your fire extinguisher.
