Does anybody have firsthand experience with counterfeit alloys from companies such as CM Wheels or Torque Wheels? I am inquiring about the quality aspects of the product, namely its suitability in terms of proper fit, durability on normal UK roads, susceptibility to cracking or buckling similar to the original equipment (OE) wheels, and its visual resemblance to the original items.

I owned a pair of wheels on a BMW 330d.
Visually precise to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications. The shoes maintained their balance well and I had no problems throughout my use of them.

Additionally, I had a collection of Bimmer CM replica wheels. Appeared to have a substantial weight, but withstood significant impact without fracturing.

Regrettably, I would refrain from handling counterfeit wheels. Acquire a pre-owned alloy and proceed to have it restored to its original condition.

For what reason?.....they must undergo safety assessments similar to any other product......there is no such thing as an authentic Mercedes wheel......all of them are manufactured by third-party companies. Admittedly, unless the duplicates were constructed from soap, they could not be more inferior than the factory ones when it comes to denting.
Additionally, I had a collection of CM M5 replicas for my E39 528i. The automobile was visually appealing and the outside remained in excellent condition without any signs of deformation when I sold it.
The likelihood of a refurbished wheel perfectly matching the other wheels is quite low. Therefore, in practice, it would be necessary to have all four wheels refurbished.

There is a risk involved with using second-hand wheels. I purchased an item with the belief that it was in fine condition, only to discover that it had previously sustained a fracture. Subsequently, it fractured once again. Excellent
Furthermore, if original equipment manufacturer (OEM) wheels are really of superior quality, what accounts for their susceptibility to cracking? Mercedes and BMW alloy wheels have a reputation for developing cracks. The mix of low profile tyres, run-flat tyres, and the condition of the roads is clearly not ideal.

To complete the process, I acquired a set of imitation wheels from CM Wheels in Northern Ireland. Subsequently, I had the tyres exchanged and had them installed during the week before to last. The items seem to be of excellent quality and fit well. The only minor flaw is the absence of the AMG writing on the exterior surface, but I can tolerate that. Once the 6 month guarantee expires, I will have them refurbished in the same silver colour as my original equipment (OE) wheels.

If one refurbished wheel does not perfectly match, just the second wheel on the same side of the automobile has to be refurbished. There is no need to refurbish all four wheels. I would likely do all four tasks, but it would be unnecessary to do so.
