I own a 2004 SL 350, and there is an outdated phone handset located within the centre console lid. There are three soft push buttons on the driver's side wall of this panel, which are large enough to be pressed by one or more fingers. It seems that they lack any apparent purpose, although it is evident that they possess or had a function.

I will examine my SL500 at a later time to see what I can figure out.

Indeed, I will publish one at a later time.

Since you have pushed them, it means that they are not the concealed or discretionary (code JB 007) ejector seat buttons.

There is no phone in mine, but there is one in the SLK. However, the SLK does not have any buttons.

If you need to create a Mercedes phone, consider all aspects thoroughly.

I believed that it was intended for your collection of gold sovereigns. 😀

It seems probable that the 'buttons' are the same. 🙃
