Gearbox Problem

I am seeking assistance about my vehicle, which is a 2013 W176 form with a class 220cdi engine and a 7g automatic transmission.

I am experiencing a problem with the automobile. While driving, it lost power. When I stopped the car, it would not engage any gears. Additionally, when I tried to put the car in gear for the first time, a loud noise could be heard from the gearbox region.
The aforementioned sound was also produced during the first start of the automobile, accompanied with a harsh engine noise. The vehicle was then retrieved by the r.a.c, who proceeded to analyse the fault codes. Initially, just one code was identified.

The number was p0715.

Following the occurrence of a towing incident, the vehicle exhibited a lack of engagement with the park, neutral, or reverse gears, persistently returning to the park position. Additionally, the engine management light illuminated and the audible noise ceased to be produced during the process of shifting the vehicle into gear.

In the present day, an extra two codes are being generated.

pages 0921 and 0925.All instances of p0715 are shown as permanent.

I comprehend that p0715 is associated with the speed sensors situated on the T.C.U. However, I have been informed that the other two seem to be linked to the clutch or fluid.

If anybody has had a similar situation, I would really appreciate any assistance or suggestions.

I have reached out to many nearby garages, each offering varying recommendations. Due to the car's lack of power, I am attempting to identify the specific problem in order to bring it to the suitable garage.

Given your circumstances, I would arrange for the automobile to be sent to Wayne Gates in Harrow, where he can assess and rectify the problem.
I would only consider taking the vehicle to a Mercedes expert.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have reached out to him, with the intention of sharing it on a forum to see whether anybody has had a similar situation, in order to get advance notice. A gearbox expert advised removing the starting motor to inspect for the presence of metal shavings on its inside, namely where it connects to the gearbox. A significant number of such shavings were seen, suggesting that the most probable cause is a flywheel. I will provide an update on this thread after the motor is fixed, with the intention of assisting anyone who may have similar issues in the future.

Indeed, the vehicle still has a dual mass flywheel and a dct-7g gearbox, which is equipped with dual clutch. There is a distinction between the usual 722.9 seen in other Mercedes models. I have completed several tasks throughout my tenure at Mercedes.

The likely reason is the failure of the double clutch. Detach the starting motor and inspect for any deposits. If any deficiencies exist, it is necessary to replace the DC. It is also a few quids.
