Excuse me, I have two choices when it comes to cleaning the upholstery in my car:

Spot cleaners like the Bissell SpotClean and the VAX Spotwash

What are your thoughts and experiences with these?

My Bissel SpotClean pro is excellent (so long as you buy their supplies), but it can become rather noisy, so you may want to wear earplugs. It's not a fast process (you have to spray the mixture, wait for it to soak in, agitate it with the brush, and then vacuum it up), but the results are well worth the effort.

I, too, own a Bissel SpotClean Pro; it is, as you say, somewhat noisy, but as I only use it on rare occasions, I don't mind so much. When performed according to 'cristispot's' instructions, extraction yields excellent results.
The only problem I have with this machine is the suction hose, which keeps splitting because the radius of the curve is too small. Even though I hadn't used the machine too frequently, the hose needed to be replaced. The hose is now kept in a curved position, which takes up more space but reduces the stress on the hose while not in use.

I appreciate this discussion and the related link. I'm thinking about buying one. ;)

A part of me is still unsure. My first thought was to get a Bissell, but I'm now leaning towards a VAX because of the noise level and the possibility of a split hose. My inclination is to check them out in person at Currys or any other retailer.

The customer service at Karcher is excellent. My Karcher K7 was giving me trouble. The rifle started leaking badly, and the trigger had developed a malfunction.

John Lewis directed my call to Karcher UK as my pressure washer had a five-year guarantee, and Karcher promptly sent me a new gun at no cost.

They only needed me to verify the serial number on the product's sticker.

John Lewis and Karcher, in my opinion, both provide excellent customer service. Spot cleaners aren't something I'd expect to see from Karcher.

John Lewis has Vax spot cleaning for £99 with delivery.

If you wanted it even more quickly, they provide additional delivery options including click and collect from several stores (including Waitrose) and next day delivery.

I agree that shopping at John Lewis is a safe bet. I can also make purchases through VAX directly, albeit I have no prior experience doing so.

On many occasions, I purchased directly from Vax. Although I have always had excellent service and quality from them, they now seem to be experiencing some difficulties.

I have not purchased a spot cleaner, so I cannot comment on them.

I've been using the SpotClean Pro, and I'm very satisfied with it.
