I have been using my 2018 R8 soft top as my everyday vehicle for a week now, and I have driven around 1200 miles. This is because my round trip commute to work is roughly 100 miles. The vehicle is user-friendly, providing a pleasant and convenient driving experience compared to other supercars. Given that it is an Audi, I have the expectation that it would perform and respond in a manner consistent with the brand's reputation. The car's enjoyment is contingent upon its own want, and its lack of excitement aligns with your preference, making it a good choice for your everyday routine. I have a few inquiries about my highway driving habits. Specifically, when I use the cruise control at either 65 or 75 miles per hour, I would want to know the ideal revolutions per minute (RPM) at which this automobile tends to maintain a constant speed. I have seen a little vibration occurring in the 6th and 7th gears at about 2500rpm, maybe due to an increased power demand. Is it necessary to push and hold in order to lower or raise the top, unless the vehicle is in motion? What are the optimal temperatures to reach before engaging in aggressive driving? Has anybody successfully installed a dashcam or hardwired a radar detector? What was the level of difficulty? Are there any other tasks or precautions I should be aware of or doing in addition to the routine maintenance? I am grateful for the assistance. It has been enjoyable to become a member of the R8 club, and I have no regrets.

The tip feature for opening the top is only operational while the vehicle is travelling at speeds ranging from 6 to 50 km/hr.
To achieve closure, one must persistently exert effort.
Driving in 7th gear at speeds of 65 or 75 miles per hour is not an issue.
Indeed, you are correct in stating that driving this vehicle is akin to experiencing the duality of Jekyll and Hyde, a remarkable characteristic for a supercar.

Prior to accelerating forcefully, it is advisable to consistently observe the red portion of the tachometer until it reaches the appropriate redline. It will take a few minutes of driving at a relaxed pace to warm up the vehicle after a cold start. Typically less than 10.

You are accumulating a substantial number of kilometres on your R8, my buddy.

While I like the idea of driving our high-performance vehicles, the prospect of covering a mere 100 kilometres per day seems quite unexciting and ordinary. Do you own an additional automobile that you may use for commuting? I like reserving my R8 for enjoyable weekend excursions.

I own a 2005 Ford GT and a 2020 McLaren 720 Spider, both of which I meticulously care for and store in garages. Additionally, I own a Chevrolet truck specifically used for traversing mountainous terrain and transporting various items.

We need photographs of the automobile, as well as images of the GT and 720. Impressive assortment!

Greetings! May you have excellent health while enjoying the R8! Do you have any intentions of upgrading your exhaust system? Adjust?

I purchased the Blackvue 970-2ch dashcam. Connected to the automobile battery in order to begin recording upon activation.

I could have obtained a battery pack and then connected the camera to it, enabling it to record even while the automobile is not in operation. The camera has the capability to transmit the footage to the cloud using a sim card.

I had the body shop do the task of wiring and concealing the wires during the disassembly of the automobile for the purpose of applying paint protection film (PPF). Since I also have a soft top, the back camera needs to be mounted using an adhesive on the rear. Uncertain about the potential long-term harm, but it is of little consequence.

If you want to avoid covering the rear camera, you may need to get a camera that is capable of recording the inside of the vehicle from the front.

It is essential to own a camera for urban driving, a task that I want to reduce significantly in the next year.

I agree with the Blackvue. Excellent system. I am willing to purchase the Escort passport 9500ci system and have it installed by an expert. I have installed it on all of my vehicles, and it is just as essential as having insurance.
