Greetings, everybody. Is there a specific technique for securely shutting the hood on a 2018 E Class? Each time I sporadically open and shut my car's hood, the bonnet open warning alert goes off on the next usage, after about one mile.

Ensure that the sensor attached to one of the bonnet locks at the front is securely fastened, and if necessary, replace it.

If the situation is similar to my C Class, you must release the bonnet from a height of around 8-10 inches instead than just pushing it closed. Otherwise, one of the locks may not correctly engage, resulting in a warning appearing on the dashboard.
It is likely a characteristic exclusive to German automobiles, since my BMW has the same issue.

My experience occurred on a single occasion. It is quite bothersome and persistent in emitting beeping sounds.

It was discovered that the latch was not properly fastened on one side, therefore it needed to be opened and then closed again.

Occasionally, the rubber stoppers may need rotation to ensure that they are not impeding complete closure.

As said before, firmly close the bonnet to prevent the alert from appearing.
