I own a 2009 xs model with a horsepower of 178. The ABS light has intermittently illuminated in the past, but could be reset by restarting the engine. However, the ABS light is now always on, despite the vehicle functioning normally. I have performed a code reading, but no error codes have been detected. Does anybody have any experience with this issue and, perhaps, a solution? Thank you for your assistance.

I believed that the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) would be regulated by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which would receive signals from the four ABS sensors located on the wheel hubs. In the event that any of these sensors fail to provide a signal (measured in millivolts), it would result in the activation of the warning light. Each unit costs around £22, however the length of the wires varies depending on their situation.I have just purchased 2 wheel bearings in preparation for their installation.I hope it is the most cost-effective solution, since it offers the lowest price for repair.

Thank you for that. I recalled that there was a recommendation to replace the front wheel bearing in the operating system. It would be more cost-effective to purchase a new hub that includes the bearing. I am contemplating if this may be a contributing factor to the issue at hand.

I am unable to provide a definitive answer, since I have already said that I have purchased two bearing kits, two ABS sensors, and two trackrod ends.I would attempt to perform the task independently, but it requires a high-quality press, which is not available at my local garage in the village. Additionally, their hourly rate is £50, and the job is much simpler when the vehicle is elevated on a ramp rather than on the ground. I have already prepared the bolts by cleaning and spraying them, so completing the task within a day should be feasible. I checked Autodoc, but it indicated that the hub does not include the bearing. The cost of the bearing, circlip, nut, and oil seal is £40.

The cost of the hub, which includes the bearing and other necessary components, is £38. The replacement process does not need any interference with the suspension or track rod. Simply remove the disc and calliper, release the hub nut, and take out the whole hub. Then, replace it with the new hub. There are instructional videos available on YouTube for reference.
The front and rear bearings and hubs are identical.

On what subject are you now identifying the flaws? The steering knuckle must be removed from the vehicle and placed in a hydraulic press in order to extract and reinstall the bearing and hub. Regarding the rear of the vehicle, it does not have a bolt-on hub and bearing assembly. This feature is only present in cars manufactured in 2009 and beyond. In the 2003 to 2009 BL model, the bearing is located on the half shaft, since it has a solid rear axle.

As of now, I have not taken any action or read any information. That is why I am seeking assistance here before proceeding.

Regardless of the approach, you need to remove the large 32mm nut on the front and push the drive shaft back. However, I had an issue while doing this yesterday as it would not budge. Please update us on your progress. In my case, I will be taking it to the garage next Friday where they have a 30 tonne press.
