My BMW 640d N57 had an oil consumption issue, requiring the addition of 1 litre of oil every 300 miles. Due to my employment, I drive around 400 miles each week.

I brought the vehicle to BMW to address the problem and conducted tests to determine the whereabouts of the oil. After the testing, it was determined that the oil was not being lost. The oil was refilled and I was assured that the engine is in fine condition.

After a period of 3 weeks, I am now in need of a replacement engine as a result of an oil blockage. I was just notified that the automobile is in excellent condition and the leak has been resolved by replacing the old oil with new oil.

I assert that BMW is responsible for the situation and should be held accountable for the damages.

What are the opinions of everyone about this matter?

What is the current age and mileage of the car?
If your vehicle is no longer covered by warranty, it is quite unlikely that BMW would provide any financial assistance, making the chances of receiving compensation comparable to winning a lottery. During the automobile inspection, they will claim that there were no concerns. However, it is likely that your earlier problem has been gradually building up to this disastrous occurrence.
Did the lower part fail, by any chance?

They consistently refuse to take any responsibility for anything.

The oil return pipes can lead to the failure of the oil pump, resulting in the removal of the crank and bearings. I have observed numerous cases of this issue, although only the failed ones are visible. A BMW specialist on Facebook has shared their perspective on the cause of bottom end failure, attributing it to blocked oil returns caused by inadequate servicing, such as using old oil or an old oil filter. When I refer to inadequate service, I mean over 10,000 miles or one year without maintenance. The practice of going 18,000 to 24,000 miles without an oil change is unreasonable, especially if you often make short excursions.

I am on the verge of purchasing a n57 f30 vehicle with a mileage of 140,000 kilometres, and it has been regularly serviced every 10,000 miles.
Is it advisable to use engine flush liquid to thoroughly clean the engine oil?
Will that be beneficial?
Alternatively, should I choose to replace the oil at earlier intervals in the future?

I would abstain from making an effort.

I purchased an F31 335D (65 plate) as a category N vehicle with less than 60,000 miles on the odometer. However, the car was unable to start due to flood damage, as indicated by the auction. I discovered the presence of water in the first four cylinders, accompanied by corrosion on the injectors. I attempted to manually rotate it using a hand crank, but it remained immobile. After draining the oil and finding no water, I proceeded to send the engine for a rebuild or reconditioning. Unfortunately, I must inform you that the engine has been completely destroyed. The whole lower portion is irreparable. The crankshaft has sustained damage. The cylinder block has a hole, the connecting rods are damaged, and the oil pump is also affected. The substance contained inside it resembled more of a viscous lubricant, akin to grease or silicone sealant. Uncertain about the occurrence. It is difficult to comprehend how the engine deteriorated to such a condition, but it seems as if it was subjected to intense use for the whole 60,000 miles without undergoing an oil change.
I previously had a 335d with 140,000 miles on a 2014 registration (which I suspect was a former police vehicle), and it performed quite well.
Lesson learned: Consistent maintenance and oil changes are crucial for the longevity of these engines, which remain robust even under demanding conditions. However, neglecting proper care might result in significant consequences.

Currently, I am in need of either a substitute engine or an individual who has a substantial quantity of components available for purchase. Does anybody have knowledge of any?

When I switch automobiles, I am unsure whether I have changed the oil.
However, I took the initiative to modify it first and used inexpensive oil before running it for a distance of one hundred miles. Subsequently, I replaced both the oil and the filter, ensuring that I filled it with high-quality oil. As a result, my concerns were alleviated, bringing peace of mind.
