While the handbook states that gearbox servicing is unnecessary, the dealer recommends having it done after the vehicle reaches 60,000 miles. I plan to retain ownership of the automobile for an extended duration, but, the servicing cost amounts to $500.00. Therefore, I would appreciate your opinion on whether it is imperative to proceed with the repair.

To get verification, examine the hue of the gearbox fluid. However, a mileage of 60,000 miles seems to be accurate.

I have accumulated about 20,000 km on my CX30 and I have enlisted the help of a mechanic buddy to do the following services: replacing the gearbox filter and oil, changing the engine oil and filter and draining and refilling the front and rear differential fluids.

Is the cost of servicing the gearbox $500? If the service includes a pan drop, filter replacement, and fluid exchange, the cost seems to be somewhat high. Could someone here provide us with the precise protocol for doing this task thoroughly and accurately?
