Greetings

I am experiencing an issue with my 2006 E90 320d. I had the prevalent ABS reluctor ring problem two years before. The vehicle experienced power reduction until traction control was engaged, at which point the ABS, DSC, and red exclamation lights remained on. I temporarily resolved the problem by using a washer to augment the distance between the ABS rear sensors and the ABS ring. This was adequate for an extended period until I began experiencing the same problem, prompting me to consider using a somewhat thicker washer. This resulted in the loss of my Speedo, as well as the freezing of my distance clock and the fuel gauge providing inaccurate information.

I believed the answer was simple; the sensor is positioned too distant for an accurate reading. I will remove the washers and attempt to resolve the problem with the reluctor ring appropriately. I detached the half shafts and installed new rings, since mine were significantly rusted and had shining markings indicating contact. I further installed two new rear sensors (eBay, non-OEM).

I then attempted to drive it in hopes of resolving the issues, but to no avail. I then connected it to the computer, cleared all codes, nevertheless the lights remain on and the speedometer is still inoperative.

Immediately after the reset, this code appears prior to any driving activity.

5DB0 DSC: Wheel-Speed Sensor, Power Supply, Rear Left

Subsequent to executing this code, the following message is shown.

5DC3 DSC: Wheel-Speed Sensor: Plausibility, Rear Right

Additional codes that may be important

93FB No Communication (Vehicle Speed) From DSC, ACSM Receiver/MRS5, DSC Transmitter

Error 4992: Instrument Panel Message (0x1B4), DDE Receiver, Instrument Panel Transmitter

3F62 DDE: Road Speed Signal Through CAN

I saw the live data, and both back wheels are indicating a speed of 0.

I am uncertain about my future steps regarding the automobile, since the MOT has expired and it is presently SORN. Any assistance or recommendations would be welcomed.

If it activates without any movement, there must be an issue with the installed sensors.

What was the cost of the eBay sensors?
Numerous members have reported that the least expensive sensors do not function immediately upon unboxing.

It is likely that you have acquired either the erroneous component number or substandard merchandise. My 2006 E91 320d lacks reluctor rings. I own the magnetic bearing variant. To ascertain the proper component number for your vehicle, you must input your VIN into Realoem.com. Do not purchase inexpensive items; choose for a reputable brand, since being frugal often results in higher costs over time.

Thank you for the responses. It is to be hoped that the issue is only a malfunction of a sensor. I verified the OEM to confirm I am getting the proper component and will seek to purchase a reputable brand.

My Vehicle Identification Number is VE01859.

Two distinct part numbers are emerging, and I am uncertain which one is required.

It would likely be the best option unless your vehicle is an ex-police or service model, I presume. The S100A was a potential option at the time of the car's order. Could you provide a link to the item you received as a replacement?

Do you possess the old sensors to ascertain whether a reading can be obtained, given that the issue seems to be confined to one side?

I no longer own the previous sensors, since they were inadvertently discarded during my wait to repair the ABS ring. I will get a reputable brand OEM number 34526762466.
I verified the source of the sensors, which were purchased from AliExpress for £5 apiece, potentially elucidating many issues. The component number from AliExpress seems to be accurate, at the very least.

The component number is same, but I cannot ascertain their compatibility. If it was functioning before and the reluctor rings were installed appropriately, I cannot see any other issue.
