Hi all,

Been hunting for something special for my wife’s birthday and stumbled across a lovely looking 2023 Hyundai Tucson listed by Pencarreg Logistics on eBay. They say it's a repossession, price is very decent compared to similar cars on the market. The catch is, they’re asking for an initial deposit up front, then the balance after it’s been prepped for delivery. They say the payment is held in a segregated business account, and they offer a 10 money back guarantee once the car arrives.
Sounds okay, but I’ve never bought a car this way. Anyone ever used them or know if they’re legit?

Hey, I actually bought a car through them not long ago, mine was a 2022 Kia Ceed. It was my first time buying a repo car too, and I had the same doubts, paid the deposit, then the balance a few days later once I got confirmation the car was loaded for delivery. When it turned up, it was absolutely immaculate. Hope that eases your mind a bit!

Yes, that’s really helpful, did you pay by bank transfer, or were there any other options?

I did a bank transfer, I double-checked with my solicitor first, and he told me that since the new rules came in around October last year, banks are now required to refund customers up to £85k within 5 working days if they fall victim to fraud, that gave me a lot more confidence, to be honest.

Hi, I’ve read about the new refund policy and it’s reassuring to see something in place that actually protects people making high-value transfers. It feels like scams are everywhere lately, especially on platforms like Facebook Marketplace, where most listings seem fake.

I wouldn’t be so sure, a mate got caught out just last week by a fake listing he found on AutoTrader. The car was listed at more half its usual price £7880 and he sent the money thinking it was a quick deal. Luckily, his bank refunded him within three days, though they did charge a £100 admin fee. So yeah, it’s not just Facebook that’s risky these scams are popping up on every platform now.

I got a 2023 Citroën C4 through Pencarreg Logistics back in Feb. They mentioned delivery would be within 7 to 10 working days, and mine showed up on the 7th day. Driver was really decent gave me a ring an hour before arriving to check road access.
Car came fully valeted, had both keys, logbook, MOT history, and service printout. I’d happily recommend them.

just got my first invoice for £1,000 as the deposit. Pencarreg Logistics said once it’s been cleaned, checked over, and loaded onto the transporter, they’ll issue the second invoice. Seems like a fair system, gives you time to step away if anything feels off.

Hi all, bit of a tricky one!

I paid for a 2022 Audi A4 from Pencarreg Logistics about 10 days ago, and it was meant to be delivered yesterday. I got a call saying there’s a 48-hour delay on their logistics side.

Starting to feel a bit anxious now. Has anyone else experienced a delay like this?

Not to worry, I had nearly the same experience last year. My car was due within 8 days, but it actually arrived on day 9. They kept me informed the whole way through, and it turned up in perfect condition. I totally get the nerves, but honestly, they did right by me. I’m sure yours will arrive soon.
