Hello everyone, I am a newcomer seeking guidance, please. My automobile has been experiencing sporadic rough idling while heated for many months. Each occurrence induces vibrations that I can perceive in both the exhaust and the gearbox. It manifests intermittently when heated and immobile. Prior work included the replacement and testing of all six injectors, engine reconstruction, EGR deletion, and the removal of two out of four catalytic converters. This task was undertaken to resolve the problem. The only component I have not evaluated is the mass air flow sensor. I have connected a reliable scanner that displays no codes. Simultaneously with the onset of the rough idle, the engine stalls when the fuel level is at its lowest, accompanied by a DDE warning light. Subsequently, it ignites once again. There are no cutouts when the fuel level exceeds half a tank. Uncertain whether this is related. Does anybody own a comparable experience? I have not inspected the mass airflow sensor or the low-pressure fuel injection pipe sensor.

The performance is satisfactory, with no difficulties whatsoever. The glow plugs, vacuum pump, and turbocharger have all been replaced and tested.

Consider attempting it with the mass airflow sensor disconnected.

I will attempt it, thank you. Uncertain whether the issue may be associated with the inline fuel tank that is malfunctioning when fuel levels are low.

The raise pump in the tank may be malfunctioning.

Is it located under the rear driver's side seat? Do you have any insights on the irregular idle while the engine is warm? If I disconnect the MAF sensor while the engine is operating and it stalls, would it indicate that the MAF is functioning properly?

You may ascertain the gasoline levels on each side of the tank using the cluster's secret menu. If the in-tank fuel pump is functioning correctly, there should consistently be a greater volume of fuel on the pump side. The suction of the inline fuel pump may compensate to a certain extent.

Have you examined the injector correction parameters during the occurrence of lumpy idle symptoms? Have you attempted to manipulate and jolt the individual injector connections or the connector on the rail pressure sensor located at the back of the fuel rail? Frequent occurrences of poor contact are seen with them.

Thank you for your reply. The injectors were changed and have just passed testing successfully. I have not interacted with the individual injector connections or the sensor, but I will examine them and provide feedback. There is one sensor located in the rear, next to the intake manifold; I can verify its connection and cleanliness.

Attempt to bend and jerk to see if you can reproduce the symptoms. The wiring and pins may seem OK; nonetheless, the spring contacts inside the pins may become loose with time, resulting in intermittent contact issues.
