I have been unable to locate much information online on the manual 6-speed gearbox installed in my W205. My transmission model is (716754 00 035017), abbreviated as 716.7 in the WIS.

Several internet video guides for different MB models mention a 14mm hex bolt for loosening the drain and fill screws; however, it seems that my screws are far smaller at 8mm.

Prior to unscrewing these plugs, I would want to verify that I possess the appropriate drain and fill screws (see to the photo). Are they accurate?

Ensure to remove the filler/level plug first. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

What is the reason behind that? Is that intended to guarantee the complete drainage of oil by eliminating an airlock?

Draining the oil first and then being unable to remove the filler cap results in a gearbox devoid of oil, which constitutes a significant issue.

Those plugs will be secure.

What is the reason for changing the oil?

Additionally, as others have said, it is essential to guarantee that it can be refilled if depleted. 👍

That is a valid observation; I will proceed accordingly.

The vehicle is now over a decade old with 70,000 miles and has never undergone a replacement.

MB Manchester states that the "typical interval for manual transmissions to undergo a fluid change is between 30,000 and 60,000 miles."

Is this advice accurate?
