Hello, my 320d has been displaying the P115C code. I conducted a smoke test and discovered a leak at the swirl flap actuator; I am considering blanking it off.

Is the procedure for blanking simply the removal of the swirl flap and rod, insertion of the blank, and retention of the actuator attached to the wiring harness?

I am quite inexperienced with these engines, therefore I apologise for my limited understanding. Additionally, the image depicts the blank that I believe I can utilise.

What is the age of your 320d, as the methodology varies between the early and late versions of the N47 engine?

It is the 2010 320D Cabriolet.

To include slapping into the manifold, the plastic flaps must be fractured to facilitate the removal of the rod. I cannot remember whether the rod requires cutting or if it may be extracted as a single unit. Subsequently, it is necessary to install a blanking plug at the terminus of the manifold.

Thank you. Therefore, ideally, there should be no codes.

The code you possess indicates a generic air system problem that may have multiple underlying causes.
It can be somewhat cumbersome to locate. I recommend cleaning the manifold while it is removed, clearing any codes upon completion, and observing if the fault reoccurs. The existence of a leak may indeed be the underlying cause.

Thank you. I choose to avoid the blank to prevent triggering additional code.

While doing the task, replace the vacuum lines, since it is prudent to do so while the manifold is removed.
