Greetings everyone;

After crossing 7,500 miles this morning, the message that my service is due now finally went away from my dashboard, which had been indicating that it was about to be serviced for a while. I was under the impression that every service interval was 10,000 miles or 12 months (whichever was earlier), and I've only had the car for eight months.

Has anyone else encountered this, or is it just a normal occurrence that is giving me plenty of notice to schedule it?

Much obliged.

The limit was incorrectly set.
Yup, it's either $10,000 or 12 months, whichever comes first.

The warning can be reset.

Mine required a recent factory reset in the settings. My first service is in about a month, and I still won't have accumulated 10,000 miles.

I am very grateful for the responses. I'll return to the car and reset it then.

Is this the responsibility of the dealership, or am I also able to set the service mileage requirements (10,000)?

It seems like the oil reset triggered an alert, but I certainly won't forget to schedule my service; I just finished both. Be wary; hitting $10,000 might mean missing out on the full year.

Thanks for the tip! I will definitely take advantage of the two months I have left before I reach 10,000.

Which is particularly true considering how busy many dealers are. Especially if you're looking for a rental vehicle.
