Decreasing radio reception

Hello, From time to time, I experience a loss of radio signal. The radio abruptly turns off, and the message "no signal" appears on the iDrive screen. This problem seems to be more pronounced when it rains. I was wondering if anyone had any idea which module could be experiencing water ingress or moisture damage, as well as the location of that module.

radio station (FM or DAB) and country of origin? Spotty DAB is common in more remote places. It happens frequently on DAB-only stations, but not on those with FM fallback; on the former, it simply disappears.

Seek out any dampness near the foot region if this is an emerging symptom. Although the antenna components are typically located in the rear pillars and should be dry, water intrusion could damage the power supply to them.

We are not located in a rural area, but with all this rain we are experiencing, it is more noticeable. The boot area does not appear to be wet or damp, unless water is seeping in from another source.

Your antenna, if it is a F Series or an E Series model, will share pathways with the demist heater and be located in the rear windscreen. You can remove the plastic cover from the roof lining on the saloon, which is located just behind the high-level brake light. The DAB/FM amplifier is located in the diversity antenna module. It seems to be in the same spot on the Touring, and I believe the washer jet is directed in the same general direction. It would be wise to check that area for any signs of leaks. How has that module been behaving when it comes to unlocking and locking? It also handles key reception.

Remember to ask if this is a new issue or if DAB was successful before.
The reception on my f20 and f30 is flawless, but on my m8's f30—all from the same year—it's all over the place.
