Visited to examine a 2023 model with a 64 kWh capacity. After owning a 30kWh Soul for four years and covering 40,000 miles, my partner swiftly concluded that the EV2 we parked beside was more aesthetically pleasing, thus the choice was made.
Engaging in a trade with the MG4 on Thursday, notwithstanding the EV2 abruptly applying the brakes at a roundabout during the test drive and subsequently advising me to "exercise caution" !!
Thus, in response to my inquiry. I find it hard to comprehend that dashcams are not universally included in all new automobiles. I possess a combined front and rear Nextbase device powered by the 12v socket in the MG4. I sought a hardwired option for my Kia and received a quotation of £156 per hour for installation—one hour for the front and one hour for the rear (integrated, utilising a single wire for both). I am currently awaiting a quote for their provision and installation, but I anticipate it will exceed £500-600.
I am inclined to solely hardwire the front and subsequently connect the rear myself, totalling £156.
What actions have others undertaken, please?
I believe I may have interfered with the wiring/connectors for the passenger side airbag on the MG4 while personally routing cables, resulting in erroneous on/off notifications, classified as a SIGNIFICANT FLAW in the MOT documentation, rendering it unlawful for public road use when activated.
MG sanctioned a specific quantity of investigative efforts, subsequently asserted no culpability and discontinued the process. Likelihood of a costly paperweight situation, thus exchange. Furthermore, I am reluctant to take that risk once more.
