Hiya,
I currently have a Q7, which has been nothing but trouble for me. I got a beautiful A5 S-Line as a loaner car last month, and I fell in love with it right away. I've now chosen to trade it in for a new car.
I feel bad about making the trade because I have a two-year-old son and it's not the most sensible car to get, especially after driving the Q.
After all the problems with the truck, I wanted something nice to cheer me up and renew my faith in Audi. We talked about it a lot, and in the end, we decided to order an S-line special version that should come in the new year.
I was getting excited, and then I got the news that I'm going to be a mum again in May.
Does anyone with an A5 have children? If so, how do you handle them?
I'm starting to really regret it now. I should have been smart and bought an A4, but they don't make me salivate as much as the A5.

My husband drives a Land Rover Discovery 3, so at least one of our cars is big and practical.
thanks

Absolutely not an issue. My kids, ages 8 and 12, have used my S5 for two years now without a hitch. They can sit comfortably in the backseat.

Adults may have difficulty entering or exiting the back seats, and installing child safety seats may prove to be a little annoyance (particularly when compared to an Audi Q7).

When compared to an A5, A4s are unattractive. If it were up to me, I wouldn't get one.

I have two children (8 and 11) and no major issues that would cause me to question my A5. However, kids are now old enough that I no longer need safety seats for them, so many things in life are simpler. I'd imagine that placing a baby in a car seat in the A5 would be tricky. But, if I were you, I'd wait until it became a true issue before getting anything that meets your demands. Enjoy every mile in your A5 till then.

What problems have you been experiencing with your Audi Q7?
I inquire because I have been loaned one until my A5 arrives, and I adore it so much that I'm considering trading my wife's Land Rover Discovery for it.
Thanks

One youngster, age 5, using a booster seat, has not caused any problems thus far. Since we need to rearrange the passenger seat, a front-seat passenger who is very tall may find themselves with little legroom.

Because it is simpler with children who can move themselves about, etc. BaBes with their small seats are more challenging.

With my one-year-old daughter sleeping in the Maxi Cosi Cabrio Fix, it was almost impossible to get her into the back of the car. When the front seat was all the way back, there wasn't enough space between the back of the door and the back of the front seat. This was only a problem when she was a baby. Now that she's bigger, I put a Kiddy Infinity Pro in the front seat and turn off the airbag.

She only goes in my car very rarely, though, and we always take family trips in my wife's Rav4.

As others have said, a child who can walk can get into the back seat, but you should get a seat back cover so that the child's feet don't leave marks on the back of the front seat!

I have a 14-year-old who enters and exits without difficulty, but I would have concerns (and a poor back) if I had to routinely place two children in and out of the back seats. I have the stowage pack with the nets on the seat back, and I am concerned that younger children will yank on them and/or get their feet entwined in them.

The other day, I had to transport my 73-year-old mother in the trunk without incident, but bringing her out was a riot - thank goodness she was wearing pants!

I was concerned about the return journey (wife has a mini convertible) when our X5-driving pals came to the rescue.
