What is the fuel consumption rate for a 435d regen?

Greetings. I just acquired a 69 reg 435d gran coupe, and so far, the fuel usage has been as anticipated. On Sunday, I travelled a total of 70 miles and returned home with half a tank of petrol, which is equivalent to around 200 miles of driving range. Yesterday, the wife drove the vehicle for around 30 kilometres. Earlier today, the fuel gauge indicated a quarter full and there were still 80 miles left before running out of fuel. While I understand that driving styles and other factors might affect the remaining mileage, I must point out that in my prior experience with a 330d, I did not see the gauge fluctuating to such a significant extent on short trips. Could a regenerative account for this (looks excessive)?

Is there a possibility of a problem, or am I excessively analysing the situation?

You should conduct an accurate measurement by filling the tank completely, then driving until the tank is one fourth full, refilling it, and thereafter calculating the miles per gallon (mpg). Disregard the trip computer.

I had a vehicle that consistently displayed a full fuel level for an extended period of time, but gradually decreased to a quarter of its capacity.
During the 1/4 stage, there was a straightforward and precise way to pass the time by observing the gradual descent.
Since I did not have the information about the remaining distance in miles, I cannot provide an accurate description of how it would have appeared.
It is said that filling the tank completely is the only accurate method to calculate miles per gallon (mpg).
