Hello, I have a Viano W639 V6 120cdi with 17" stock alloys.
I had to substitute the security bolts with regular bolts, so I bought some ordinary Merc. The M14/-1.5 bolts I purchased were insufficient in diameter. This is surprising, given Mercedes only offers M12 and M14 bolts in different lengths.
Any advice, please.
The M14/1.5mm wheel bolts are insufficient in size.

What is the dimensions of the remaining bolts?

Are you certain that you received an M12 instead of an M14? Obtain the measurements of the diameter and length of an authentic bolt and compare them to the dimensions of the bolt you purchased.

Based on the information provided, it seems that you have mistakenly used M12 bolts.
The accurate bolts are listed here, sourced from the Alloywheelsdirect website.
The length of the shaft is 45 millimetres. The thread pitch is M14x1.5. Drive type: 17mm. The seat type has a radius of 14mm. Compatibility: Mercedes models 220, 215, 140, 638, 639, 460, and 463

If you are certain that you need either an M12 or M14, I own a complete collection of both sizes from an R171 (perhaps an S203 M12!) and an M14 from an S204. These bolt heads, which are typical rusty Mercedes-Benz components, are available to you for the cost of shipping, since they are currently unused and stored in my garage. Contact me via private message if you are interested.

It seems doubtful that the M14 bolts are of sufficient length.
The original poster requires them to be 45 millimetres in length.

I suspect you are correct. The alloy wheels that I purchased seem to be from Alloywheels Direct.

Regrettably, it is possible that the same provider on Ebay may have the proper items. These have shown superior rust resistance compared to the way MB ones rot on my SLK!

Thank you so much for your ideas. The bolts I obtained were of size M14, however they proved to be insufficient in length to reach the hub. Upon removing the old bolt and doing a comparison, it became evident that they were entirely inadequate.
I would want to express my gratitude once again to everyone.
