The service indicator remains on.

I had my front brake pads replaced in November 2023, and I have barely driven 1,000 miles since then.
The car is a 2017 5 Series Touring.
Last week, I had a repair performed at a nearby non-BMW facility. They replaced the rear brake pads, changed the oil, replaced the brake fluid, and reset the service light.
The oil and brake fluid need replacement in March 2026. The rear brake pads are indicating that they will need to be changed in about 17,000 miles.
Nevertheless, despite having changed my front pads in November, they are now indicating the need for replacement. Last week, at the car's servicing, the garage replaced the sensor on the front pads.
The garage's current service, conducted last week, is not appearing in the service history shown on the dashboard.
The facility claims to have exhausted all possible measures and advises me to disregard the brake light warning until I need their services for a thorough repair.
Does anybody know why the service record from last week is not appearing in the system?
Is it possible that there is another sensor malfunction, or does the garage need to do a reset?
In addition, I have attempted to reset the device using the button located on the dashboard. The reset function is shown as a possibility, however it proves to be ineffective when attempting it.
Thank you in advance
