Kia Sportage GT Line S
I am quite interested in the 2022 model of this automobile and subsequent versions.
I own many enquiries:
1. If I get the mild hybrid in the UK, would I have the capability to manage the vehicle via Kia Connect, including remote pre-heating or ignition? Is a SIM card required, and must it be purchased separately along with a data plan?
I acknowledge that wireless Android Auto is not supported; thus, I will get one of the adapters, either the Motorola or AA Wireless. Will they operate effortlessly, or will they provide difficulties?
3. What is the reliability of lane maintain assist and adaptive cruise control? Are they as dependable as German automobiles or only a marketing ploy?
I really appreciate your time in reading this and providing a response.

1. Remote pre-heating or activation of the vehicle is not permissible; these features are inapplicable to mild hybrids or HEVs (uncertain about PHEVs). The automobile head unit is equipped with an integrated eSIM, eliminating the need to purchase a data plan.
2. Numerous topics about wireless dongles exist; do a Community Search.
3. This topic is challenging to address, in part because to the Sportage's inclusion of Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Lane Follow Assist. Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) is currently a mandated safety feature and a polarising topic; it alerts the driver when there is unintentional lane deviation and may exert force on the steering wheel. It is beneficial on motorways and dual carriageways, but less effective on rural roads. The LFA is a distinct function that identifies the lane and directs the vehicle inside it. I have not used it, thus I cannot provide commentary.
Smart Cruise Control is exceptional and very beneficial on motorways and dual carriageways. However, I discovered that it had a few peculiar idiosyncrasies; when a vehicle decelerates to leave into a slip road, it begins to slow down and fails to recognise that the car in front is leaving the lane. Similarly, when used on a standard road, parked vehicles might create confusion, prompting the system to engage the brakes.
I trust that this is beneficial.

Neither preheating nor remote start is available on PHEVs; these features are typically exclusive to fully electric vehicles.
Nevertheless, a minor solution exists. Both the HEV and the PHEV (perhaps MHEV) may be initiated from outside the vehicle, within about 4 meters, for remote parking assistance. The 'remote start' feature operates for 10 minutes and may be used to warm the car, provided that the air conditioning settings are configured prior to the final shutdown.
when this may be OK on your property, I am informed that it is illegal to leave an internal combustion engine vehicle running unattended when parked on a roadway.
My vehicle is stationed on my driveway next to the kitchen window, allowing me to remotely start the engine and regulate the temperature for ten minutes while enjoying a cup of tea.

I appreciate your swift responses.
Activating the engine remotely is an impressive feature.
Could you clarify the functionality of the Kia app in the event that it cannot prepare the vehicle or start the engine?

Kia Connect cannot preheat or start the vehicle; however, it may modify some fundamental settings, lock or unlock the doors, and display the car's position and mileage.

In response to your inquiry, it is not possible to start the engine remotely in either the mild hybrid, HEV, or PHEV models. This option is not accessible on the Kia Connect App for certain vehicles. This option is only available on Kia's fully electric cars (e.g., EV6, EV9, etc.). However, I welcome corrections from others.

can you switch the engine on for remote park assist using the app, or does it need to be the fob?
All this nearing in mind it is illegal to leave a car unattended with the engine running 'on a public road in the UK'.

The connect app is inoperable on the Sportage. The process must begin with the fob according to the remote park assist protocol.
