Hello everyone, I now own an MK4 Mondeo Titanium X 2.0 Diesel 163, which is a superb vehicle; nonetheless, I am contemplating acquiring a Titanium X Sport Ecoboost 2.0 Turbo. Is that engine problematic, and should I avoid it? Your insights would be valued. Thank you.

No significant issues, really. Potentially defective timing chain.
The 2-liter EcoBoost is equipped with the 6-speed wet-clutch Getrag Powershift 6DCT450 gearbox, which is also used in some Volvo cars. To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to replace the gearbox oil and filter every three years or 37,500 miles, whichever comes first. The task is costly, and many owners reject the dealers' recommendations. You want to get verification of the invoice. A stamp in the book signifies no evidence that the oil was processed.

I have had two vehicles equipped with the 2.0 EcoBoost engine, together accumulating about 100,000 miles without any issues.
Carbon accumulation may occur on the valves. Plastic in the cooling system may become brittle with the passage of time. The head gasket failure is reportedly more prevalent in the Focus ST, particularly in the United States. Infrequent oil changes might cause the VVT solenoids to get gummed up.
My Mondeo MK4.5 had 95,000 kilometres, and the engine was still operating well. I believe that as long as the engine has regular oil changes, it remains rather dependable.

Thank you for your response. I want further performance, although I like the MK4 Mondeo. Currently, mine has 150,000 miles and continues to perform robustly, but not as swiftly as I like. Charming automobile, really. The vehicle has regular oil changes, and I only use high-quality oil. Nonetheless, I will contemplate thoroughly, and I appreciate your assistance once more.

I liked my MK 4.5; the synergy between the 2.0L engine and dual-clutch transmission was excellent. Regrettably, she required the replacement of the rear suspension and rear subframe bushes, in addition to many other recommendations that needed to be addressed before to the next MOT. The Mk5 is quite enjoyable in sport mode while use the paddle shifters.

I have been examining the MK5 models, but there seems to be several versions, and I am unable to locate one with sufficient power.

The 2.0L engine produces 240 horsepower and, despite the torque converter gearbox, accelerates with commendable swiftness. Driving on the motorway is rather economical. Traffic congestion significantly diminishes fuel efficiency.

Thank you for that; I will explore and ascertain the situation. I may retain my diesel vehicle and assess how long I can maintain its operation, given the car's exterior is in excellent condition and all bushings and rubber components have been replaced. It instills fear in many young drivers, since rural roads behave like a sports vehicle. Thank you for your responses.
I am seeking information about a potential purchase. I now own the mk4.5 2.2 manual model with a tune and have discovered a locally available 2.0 Ecoboost at a low price. I am curious whether it would be a worthwhile investment, since it seems to provide more power in its normal form. My apprehensions are to the Ecoboost engine and the Powershift gearbox.
