My brother-in-law has requested that I dispose of his left-hand drive Prius, located in Reading. He transported it from Europe two years ago with the intention of registering it in the UK, but never completed the process. It was in excellent running condition upon delivery, but has not been used since. The vehicle is situated on private property, lacks insurance, and is not registered for SORN since it is not registered at this location. Manufactured in 2010, trim levels L, LE, XLE, LTD, with a horsepower of 98, contingent upon accurate VIN decoding. Do you have any recommendations for its disposal? Who may potentially have an interest? Ideally, we would like a solution unless it is unfeasible. PS: I possess no knowledge on Priuses, so please consider myself uninformed. P.S.: Thank you in advance.

An individual residing in the UK with relatives in Europe may want to export it.

This presumes that the Prius can be revived. I am unaware of its state. Additionally, there is a deficiency of documentation (disorganised brother-in-law...).

Greetings,

You may sell it here or on other platforms such as Facebook or eBay; however, you must include photographs of the car's exterior, interior, engine compartment, and trunk, along with a description of its condition and history. An individual will express interest. However, if you possess no documentation, the vehicle may only be disposed of as junk, either at no cost or for a nominal sum. This automobile, which has not been used for two years, will need a new set of batteries costing over £2000, in addition to servicing, new tires, and maybe other repairs. Include that it is very antiquated and of no intrinsic worth whatsoever.
Attempt to locate documentation of ownership, among other relevant materials.

Thank you for your sobering perspective. I will search for the documentation and capture some photographs; but, in the meantime, if anybody is aware of a parts vendor in the Reading vicinity, please inform me. 🤗

Anticipate that the scrappie may want documentation for the vehicle. They must be capable of tracing the origin of the vehicles they disassemble. In such situation, make enquiries via phone. Not everyone is as meticulous and may just relieve you of it. It is advisable to inform the authorities in the nation where the vehicle is registered that it has been scrapped.

Thank you for the insightful remarks. I will familiarise myself with the troublesome Prius upon my return to the nation.
