Greetings,

We are concerned about hard shifting and a potential problem with engaging gears at elevated engine RPMs prior to gear changes. We have a scheduled appointment for diagnostics, but we cannot go until August 4th. Do you have any opinions on the safety of driving in this situation? Should I contact Hyundai directly to report prior to attending the planned appointment?

Thank you.

Your specific model of the 2022 Tucson is not mentioned, however it may not alter my answer.
Based on your description, I would refrain from driving it. I would assertively communicate with the dealer or Hyundai that a four-week wait for an appointment is too prolonged for a vehicle that should not be used due to gearbox issues. Enquire about appointment availability at a nearby dealer.

Thank you for your contribution. Uncertain about the model. Travelling in a vehicle with my spouse while I compose this. The generic model is the most optimal option I possess, being the standard model. Contacting the dealer immediately.
Thank you

Hello, I am enquiring if you have received your Tucson and whether the problem has been diagnosed.

Greetings,
The technician from the dealership service department said that there is a problem with the "2nd-3rd gears." They have filed a warranty claim with Hyundai for gearbox repairs. I anticipate that approval will need several days, followed by necessary labour. No diagnosis has been established so far. I anticipate that the service personnel will need to examine the gearbox to identify the problem. They test drove the car and had the same situation we had. We hope for a hassle-free repair process.

Did you operate it while awaiting? Did they suggest allowing it to remain untouched until they could examine it?
